Reflectivity software


Motofit is a program (running in IGOR Pro) that performs least squares fitting of X-ray and neutron reflectometry data using Genetic Optimization and Levenberg Marquardt.

It was written by Andrew Nelson, of the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), and is licenced via the GNU general public licence.


The XOP available for download here is a plugin that fits into IGOR. It calculates reflectivities using the Abeles matrix method. MOTOFIT can use this plugin, thus speeding up analysis considerably (although Motofit can run without it).

Windows version:

compiled on XP Professional with Microsoft VC++6.


Macintosh version:

AbelesXOP_MacOSX.dmg - Distributed as a disc image, Mount the disk image by double clicking it once it is downloaded (your browser may do this automatically). Copy the contents to the Igor Extensions folder. Thanks to Andrew Jackson (NCNR NIST) for compiling this version. Compiled on a Macbook Pro, as a universal binary (suitable for PPC and Intel).
