on Bisexuality to be held in Sydney, New South Wales,
Australia from 25th to 28th October 2002.
The venue for the conference will be the University of Technology Sydney. UTS is centrally located close to Central Railway Station and bus station. The Welcoming Reception on the 25th will be held at UTS and the Biversity Party featuring a Skott Freedman performance will be held at the Burdekin Hotel, Oxford Street, Darlinghurst on 26th. These two events can be attended separately from the conference. After the conference finishes on October 28th, we will be organising excursions in and around Sydney on 29th and 30th. The 7ICB is part of the Gay Games 2002 Sports and Cultural Festival. See our web link to the Gay Games 2002 web site in the top right corner of this page. Remember there are other conferences & events on as part of the Festival. Gay Games 2002 sporting events commence on November 1st.
Skott Freedman, 23, Bi & Proud, direct from the USA will be performing at the Biversity Party on October 26th.
Sydney & Australia QANTAS is Australia's international carrier. Australia's major domestic airlines, QANTAS & Virgin Blue, have
great safety records and security rates as some of the best in the
World. October/November is Spring here and Sydney could be expected
to have warm days and cooler nights. Sydney and surrounds offer
some great natural and human-made attractions and if you are
prepared to explore further afield you can experience the wonders
and pleasures that Australia has to offer. Why not visit some of our other State capitals, Brisbane, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin or the Federal capital, Canberra. There are our great wine growing areas, some within a couple of hours from Sydney in the Hunter Valley. Then there are our fine golden sand beaches along the New South Wales and Queensland coastlines with centres such as Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay, Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise) and Sunshine Coast (Noosa) also Queensland's Coral Coast (Bundaberg to Cooktown), Islands and Great Barrier Reef or Western Australia's amazing coastline. There is the Red Centre with Alice Springs and Uluru (Ayres Rock) or our famous World Heritage Areas, Kakadu, the Daintree and the Franklin. And when you leave our friendly shores why not visit our neighbours Aotearoa/New Zealand, Fiji, Bali or Singapore. |

Scholarships At this stage of the conference we have no money for
scholarships. However we will be endeavouring to raise funds through
the Biversity
Dance Parties in Sydney, other events, donations and
sponsorships. Scholarships will be restricted initially to bisexual
people from developing countries who have already been organising
around bisexuality in areas such as groups, research, health,
activism and sport. Priority will be given to indigenous
Australians, people from Asia and the Pacific, from Africa and to
youth and those with disabilities who are active in their home
communities. If you feel you can offer your community something from
attending the conference and other events in Sydney, then please
contact us for an application form and guidelines.
We recommend you also review the Gay
Games scholarship program http://www.sydney2002.org.au/register_scholarship.asp The Gay Games Scholarship Program has now closed. We encourage you to try alternative sources for funding.

Donations We would like to encourage established bisexual and GLBT
groups as well as individuals in developed countries to make a
donation to the Travel Assistance Fund. This will enable us
to assist those people who may need full or partial financial
assistance to attend and present at the conference. This was quite
successful for the 5th conference in Boston, USA in 1998. The Bisexual Resource
Center in Boston, USA has agreed to administer donations
(preferably in US dollars) made out to the Travel Assistance Fund
and sent to them.To make a donation direct to the Australian Bisexual Network, host of the 7ICB, for the Travel Assistance Fund, we are now able to accept Visa, MasterCard & Bankcard. Simply send us an e-mail with your details and the amount in Australian dollars you wish to donate. Or you can telephone us on (07) 3857 2500 / +61-7-3857 2500 or post your details to us at our mailing address: PO Box 490 Lutwyche Queensland Australia 4030.

Sponsorships We are looking for organisations and businesses to either
sponsor a person to attend or sponsor an event or some aspect of
the conference. If your organisation or business feels it would like
to become involved through sponsorship, please contact us by e-mail
at the address on the bottom of this page to discuss how. Of course we welcome your support through a donation to the Conference's Travel Assistance Fund or to help with our running costs.
