What you need to know about Blemmaye

The Blemmaye are the famous race of men with no heads who have their faces in their chest, they were noted by the Roman geographer Pliny The Elder in his Natural History as inhabiting Africa in 77AD, no doubt they also peopled other fictional worlds.

They were barbarians of bad personal habits, limited culture and clothing.  A mutant sub-species was a hideous half-Blemmaye half-scorpion centaur which could be born to otherwise normal Blemmaye parents.  Blemmaye are perhaps better known as perennial victims and vassals of the Elephantmen.

Blemmaye warriors include macemen, javelinmen, spearmen and massed archers of dubious competency - the scorpion-centaurs are fierce lancers noted as sometimes living apart from other tribes and raiding cattle.

Some powerful clan leaders were keepers of giant trilobites as guard creatures.

Trilobites can be commanded only by the C-in-C, an allied contingent supplied to a foreign nation can include scorpion centaurs.  A scorpion-centaur ally-general as part of this army, but not in a contingent supplied to foreigners, need not command otherwise compulsory foot.
