In this case we will run a continuous transect and draw every plant that crosses the transect line. A transect is a straight line that is taken through an area. A plan sketch is a drawing of the study area and can include the distribution of organisms. Below is an aerial photograph of the area studied. The distribution of nippers has been drawn in with a dotted line. The position of the panoramas are also indicated on the map.
