The Central Coast Kendo club was started in 1981 by Rex Lawley (4 Dan), who is one of the founding members of the Australian Kendo Remei. His son Steven Lawley (4 Dan) also began to instruct at the club, whilst also winning the Australian Kendo Championships Open Title five times. The club is currently under the watchful eye of Dale Gould (3 Dan) who has been teaching at the dojo (training hall) now for about seven years. In this time he has also been a member of the Australian Representative team for the world championships and coach of the victorious NSW kyu-grade (below black belt) team. Our members have had great success in the past with wins in most individual and teams events at a State and National level. We have also boasted valuable members in teams representing Australia at numerous international events.
