Your Local Arts Agency
Our Background In February 1995, the CCIRC was incorporated in the State of Florida as a 501(c)(3) and in March of that same year was designated as the Local Arts Agency for Indian River County by the County Commissioners. Read more about our History.
 Our Mission To nurture a cooperative environment in which cultural and educational organizations and individuals may thrive and thereby enrich the quality of life in Indian River County for all residents and visitors.
Our Services As your Cultural Council, we:
- provide avenues for nonprofit and artist networking, information-sharing, and collaboration;
- provide technical assistance and professional development on nonprofit management issues;
- encourage cooperation amongst nonprofit organizations to maximize resources and minimize competition;
- promote local artists through our registry of member artists in the visual, performing, and literary arts;
- facilitate public art exhibitions in county buildings;
- promote member artists and organizations and their events on our website, in the weekly Cultural Connection, in other print media, and on the radio;
- coordinate organizations' profiles and event dates to publish both an annual Cultural Event Planner calendar and a bi-annual Cultural Guide and Map, distributed locally and statewide;
- support community efforts to foster economic development, cultural tourism and community planning.
Our Values As your Local Arts Agency, we firmly believe in the following:Shared Values of Local Arts Agencies Belief in Democracy
Respect of the inherent worth, voice and creativity of every individual.
Belief in Place Celebrating a Place & its People. Feel passion for place, celebrate the uniqueness of artistic expression for individuals, citizens and cultural institutions.
Belief in Community Building Strengthen and create systems that stimulate participation in the community, contribute to an increasingly healthy economy and deepen discussions on improving quality of life.
Belief in Excellence -- a Commitment to the Highest Forms of Expression Encourage excellence in every level of operation, believing the child or adult working with an artist of excellence will dream bigger, reach higher and investigate ideas more creatively.
