Background music for weddings and gala functions is usually provided with Instrumental music. Typically many venues utilize string trio's and string quartets. Viva the duo perform the same classy function with their repertoire of International music, as an added advantage they can play dance music if required, such as: bossa novas, rhumbas, tangos and swing etc.

Sydney band, Viva in Paris
Viva the trio performed at a gala function presented my McIntosh Mercedes, themed for the Australian premiere of The Da Vinci Code at 430 Military Road Mosman, the screening of the movie was at The Orpheum Theatre 380 Military Road Cremorne at the conclusion of the function (about 8.30pm)
The Viva the band poster (above) portrays the personnel of Viva the band (quartet) at the Louvre during their Journey to Paris and London in 2000. Viva the Trio is a compilation of the founding members of Viva the band, Peter Rappolt (guitar and flute) and Marie Rappolt (accordion and bass) with the addition of a guest musician. Viva the Trio appeared at the premiere of The Da Vinci Code to perform a selection of French music plus American swing and jazz music that was popularized in Paris by Sidney Bechet, Josephine Baker, Edith Piaf and the legendary Hot Club of France led by Stephane Grapelli and Django Reinhardt
Viva the band quartet is the addition of two vocalists to the duo who also play congas, percussion, bass and guitar, the band has performed at many International Venues, their most recent being in Taiwan in August 2004 for the Tainan International Chihsi Arts Festival and a return visit in 2005 for a series of live concerts and television performances for the Kenting song Festival.
Other recent French themed performances by Viva bands include: Opera in the Vineyards at the Hunter Valley, " Ah La Belle Paris", Moulin Rouge function at Tumbalong Ballroom, "Viva Paris Duo" featured act at South Sydney Juniors, Mounties, Illawarra, Burwood clubs, A Night in Paris at the18th Yalumba Jazz Festival at Thredbo, A Night in the French Quarter at the master builders club Wollongong, promotion for "Les Genies de la Mer" Masterpieces of French Naval Sculpture at the Australian Maritime Museum, French themed functions at Kiama Jazz club, multicultural PAN event at Sydney Royal Easter Show, The Miss World ball at the Four Points by Sheraton Darling Harbour, weddings at Villa Provence, wine promotions in the Hunter Valley, performances for the Tour D'France awards at Lineman's winery and many food and wine functions and festivals where a French style theme is appropriate.
