FAN REVIEWS

Rating Out Of Five Five Stars:

Aside from the ubiquitous presence of a Fatboy Slim track ("Praise You") and the Verve's yesteryear anthem of choice, "Bittersweet Symphony," the cuts on this teensploitation influenced compilation are hardly cut-out bin oatmeal. Fans restless to sample fresh Blur material will bask in the moody glow of "Coffee & TV," while other tracks offer some lesser-known but tasty dance-floor modernists such as Faithless and Kristen Barry. This is after-hours room service of taunting rock and acerbic ballads, and it highly complements the film's at-odds crew of mean-spirited teen sirens and endangered Cinderella figures, all of whom would rather watch the beautiful people than join their rat race. -- Kristy Ojala

Most movie soundtracks are just a barrage of high powered acts used to create B-sides as a tiie in to a film. However, in the case of this soundtrack only three of the acts have made it to the top 10 ever (Counting Crows, Marcy Playground, and The Verve), ;aeving a chance for undiscoved acts to show the angst and treachory of the character's idiosycraces in the film. favorits on the cd include Fatboy Slim's "Praise You", Marcy Playground's "Comin up From Behind" (which proves them to be more than one hit wonders), Blur's " Coffee and TV," and Skunk Anasaie's "Secretly." None of the tracks show dull moments and ending on the same plane as the movie by playing "Bitter Sweet Symphony" by the Verve was an ingenious idea. For those who like to see pop and rock bands mix with unknown artistes to make a progressive rock album that brings a whole new meaning to teenage sensuality check "Cruel Intentions" both the movie and the soundtrack out. I loved this album. All the songs on it describe every moment in the movie perfectly. I'd say my favorite songs on this soundtrack are: "Colorblind" by Counting Crows and "This Love" by Craig Armstrong. The entire album is beautiful and every song is beautifully written. I hope anyone who has seen the movie buys this album. -- Endless_Dark @Amazon.com(Frankfort, KY USA)
