Hello again fellow Regi-watchers. A quick recount of the recent mighty deeds performed by our dashing young hero's awaits yee in the next line or so. Despite some issues with Ocean Drives magic invisibility cape, Regicide have managed to progress through to the state level of the Jim Beam National Uni Campus band competition to be held at Sydney Uni's Manning Bar on the 12/10. In order to celebrate this success, Regicide decided too please the crowd at Macquarie Uni's Conception day with an extra-explosive set the following evening which was enjoyed by all, most of all the members of youth group('s dinner that we ate). Check the gig guide for our swag of gigs, hope to see you all partying hard at Candy's on the 29th and supporting your favourite band in their bid to win the State Band Comp. ROAR!

Hollywood can only pretend at greatness, when compared to the might that is Regicide. Let us worry not about the return of invincible all-American aliens, for the true blockbuster this season is REGICIDES RETURN! More spectacular than that, they come with new CD in tow. That's right folks, you heard it here first, it's not a bird, it's not a plane, it's TALES OF THE MILDLY SURPRISING! In order to give this most momentous of occasions the recognition it deserves, I am happy to announce a plethora of gigs around Sydney to promote the release, including both an u18 and 18+ CD launch. Check the gig guide for details. Keep watching the regi-sky's.

Band Competition time of the year again folks. Got two important dates for all you out there, the 7/6 at Macquarie Uni and the 10/6 at Club 77 for the final. Support at both of these venues would be hugely appreciated, because the more of you, the more prizes we win and the better the prizes, the better the Regicide experience we can offer in the future. See you all there....or else

Again a prolonged break between updates, however our intrepid hero's have a valid excuse.....they have been sucked into a parallel dimension known only as The RECORDING STUDIO. With tracks mixed and a fortnight away from production, this surely has been one of our most productive inter-dimensional time space endeavours ever. Not to be beaten by mere time/space detatchment, our valiant crew have also managed to perform a smattering of shows across the Cosmos, rocking the stage with Parkway Drive at Hype and progressing to the semi-finals of the Club 77 band competition next Thursday the 25th of May. Our propaganda machine has likewise been busy, activating our new myspace account at http://www.myspace.com/regicideaus, truly a progressive step in interweb domination. The Scarlet Rose has been working on his poems.

Greetings again regi-fans. Big shout out to those that made it to our return show (over a month ago now, sorry for the tardiness), it was a huge success... many beers were drunk, many notes were misplayed, only Oy cared. The intervening month has been spent in the unfathomed depths of the top secret Regicide underwater lair, laying down tracks for what will hopefully be our triple platinum music changing long player. To pass the time, Regicide has also hired a brand spanking new management team (bear?), exiling anyone involved in previous organizations to deepest darkest Africa. The bear organised our flashy .com.au, please enjoy the convenience. Couple of shows coming up, one on the 6th of April at the Sando in Newtown, the other on the following Saturday for the Hill bi-annual Hype Fest. Check the gig guide. Until then, stay tuned: same regi-channel, same regi-time.

REGICIDE RETURNS SHOW ON THIS DATE. Bring your mums, dads, sisters, brothers and illegitimate children because Regicide is back in earnest. Come and be healed by our new songs and unique brand of Rock'n'Roll as we grace our home turf for the first time in over a year. We will be joined on the night bit grindcore prodigies cityescapefire and heavy metal screamers Verona. Night kicks off at 8, with your favourite super hero's gracing the stage around 10:30. Not a night to be missed. In other news Regicide will once again be gracing the Hype festival, bringing the gift of music to the sometimes-barren hills. This will occur on the 8th of April, so hopefully plenty of shows between now and then. See you on the 9th, keep watching the skies....

Regicide plays a 'secret' return show support slot to trial our new material at the Backy Skank Christmas Show. All goes well and band is increasingly confident in new material. If you where there, consider yourself blessed.

Sometime Mid 2005
In a desperate bid to extend his working visa, Mexican bass wonder man and occasional mariachi Adam Rodriguez is recruited to fill the often smelly but not over-large shoes of Marlon Slack. The band re-groups triumphantly, nominating Mr. Hoelzl as full time vocalist, with a bit of Dave and Mitch on the side for good measure. Song writing begins in earnest, with the band bashing out a number of soon to be radio classics over the following four months. Ladies everywhere sigh with relief.

Sometime Early 2005
After a conflict of artistic and performative differences Kris Fennesy is asked to leave the band. Regicide performs a single show with the old set list with Dylan stepping up to singing duties. The prestigious event was the Castle Hill RSL Club Rotary Battle of the Bands Contest. Marlon dons a balaclava for the show and constructs a patio for himself on the side of stage in a silent protest after being removed from his inner sanctum of weaponry involuntarily. The band wins. Marlon is asked to leave the band because his balaclava was obviously un-washed. Short a Bass Player and Singer our hero's fall into something of a disarray....

No new gigs to report today, but I do have some other news that may be of interest. First of all, mailing list lovingly organised by the Fenessy’s. Click this link here and e-mail them your e-mail address if you would like to be added to the mailing list and kept up to date on everything direct to your inbox. regicidemail@hotmail.com A quick wrap-up of the last two gigs, we played particularly well at both shows with good audiences participation and great sound. Sorry about the shortened set at The Empire, but previous bands had gone overtime and the floor manager has a job to do. Thanks for everyone who supported us, cheered encore and a special shout out to our new European friend Paul (PAL) from Glasgow and his travelling accomplice who attended both shows. Members of Regicide that where available at short notice (to lazy to have a Job) will be appearing in the Hills Shire Times this week promoting our Glenorie gig. Everyone from the hills or otherwise should try to get to this one, because it would be really nice to have a regular venue for bands to perform in the hills.

No luck for Regicide on HYPE finals day, while playing well, our early slot found too many of you in bed for us to win the required points in the support category. Well done to Badge of Honour and there renti-crowd for winning. Props. Got some new gigs up, with a show next Thursday 30/9 at the Excelsior in Surrey Hills that Marlon assures me "will be a laugh, lots of hardcore bands". Also we will be playing the Granny Smith festival next month on the 16/10 with JJJ unearthed winners and long time Penrith punkers Unpaid Debt. Also performing are Rubix Cuba and Man Cower making this something of a day out for the discerning Ska fan. A Special guest trumpeter will be appearing for the next couple of gigs; Dave is off in New Zealand, doing whatever you do over there. Everyone keep an eye out for the forehead of doom and the trumpet of mayhem that will be filling in for Dave's subtle elegance. Photos of Regicide can also be found in the Hill News this week if anyone is interested.

A number of upcoming gigs to announce to you all. Our next show for the general public is the Hype Finals on Sunday 19th September at John Wearne Reserve playing at 11am. Usually a decent stage/sound at these events, so with a few punters I'm sure we can crank out an entertaining show. We are also performing two private functions on the 10th and the 24th of this Month. For those who like some beer with their Regicide (and its been awhile between drinks) we will be playing an 18+ show at The Empire in Annandale on the 2nd of October with The Resurrectors and Backy Skank (so I'm told). Expect you all to put on your dancing shoes and come on down. Info in gig sections

Alas, again I feel I am updating the web page to inform everyone that we are not dead. The last few months have not been spent in in-activity as my website updates may suggest. We have been taking photos for our CD, preparing Artwork for our CD, preparing new songs and generally getting ourself prepared for abit of an all out assault to finish this year off (plus that terrible HSC thing has loomed a little close for some members). We've been attending auditions for gigs, so there are a few shows on the horizon, but the only definite I am at liberty to tell everyone about is our up-coming performance at the Hype Heats on (this!) Sunday 11/8. Glamorous it is not, but after our previous performance here the band is resolute to walk out this time with a prize in our hands, so all your support will be greatly appreciated and aid us in this task. Keep checking back in the next few weeks for announcements of new shows, and most exciting of all a date for the EP launch.

As I have been chastised for my inability to update the website on a daily basis, I'm going to attempt to make this a long catch up entry on the activities of the band over the last month or so. Firstly however the upcoming news. I would like to draw everyone's attention to our upcoming show next weekend at the illustrious mekanarky warehouse. Best access to the venue is gained by catching a train to central and then a second train on the airport line to Turrella station. Then just head up the steps turn right and enter the big warehouse with the fire, artwork and giant anarchy symbols. This is always a huge party so you probably don't want to be driving in if you can avoid it. Observe the flyer:

Now to return to the rap up of our past activities. Starting with the furthest away Shore shocked was an absolute ball. Playing on a big stage like that really helped the band put on the best performance and it's always a pleasure to get a park full of people up off the floor and dancing. Thanks to everyone who attended that show and I hope to see you all around checking the band out at some of our upcoming fixtures and I know I've already seen afew of you around. The next weekend was a miracle unto itself and yes, we did achieve the miraculous feat. of performing two shows in the space of about three hours on opposite ends of the city. Unfortunately we had mixed success on the day, while brewhaha was a laugh and had a really friendly atmosphere for the day, having to take the first slot set us up to be the Guinea Pig band for the sound guy, and there is nothing worse than a poorly mixed band with lots of instruments. At Hype-fest I feel we put on a really good performance, but not enough to impress the judges apparently, but one can only be philosophical about such decisions. Now to more recent history, Friday nights gig with Bored of Education and Lyrical Madmen was by all accounts a success, however would have liked to see more people there and support live music, especially our live music. Hard Rock Cafe was a laugh and a really nice venue to play but unfortunately our upbeat less ska is too hard to market and despite a fantastic performance and impressing the crowd. But as always a live show is more important than any competition prize. Oh well, have a good one, see you all at our next show

I've waited 4 years for this day. 29th of February! Shame i slept all day, but the band lives on. Yesterday was spent on mixing and after a half finished job there has already been some very positive feed back on the three songs that have been mixed. There's still another month 'till shoreshocked but we did come second in the hyped heats last week (even though it was a very mediocre performance from some very suffering band members) and we will be looking to beat that position at the finals in April. Should be very tidy. We've been spicing up our set with some new songs, i hope everyone else enjoys a change also. We have matured significantly as a band since our last wave of songs with a 'more music less inane' approach. It may not be as 'ska' as our roots, but oh well. Peace out.

Sorry for again taking to long between updates. We have something of a hectic schedule coming up, with another 4 shows added to the gigs section plus a further 4 or 5 still in the TBC stages of development. Thanks to everyone for turning up at St. Ives, we had a great turn-out for our first 'headline' drawing some 120+ people and unveiling some of the new touches to our sound and set, seeing what works and discovering what needs fixing. Hopefully shows like that will lead to a far slicker set for some of the more important gigs coming up. Mixing of the famous EP has been booked for the 28th and 29th of this month, so it's all getting one step closer to completion. Expect to see you all at upcoming Shore shocked and Brewhaha.

Dead we are not! Different we soon shall be but for the moment the dream continues to live under this illustrious banner of Regicide. Despite popular belief the band has not dropped of the face of the planet for lack of gigs, but has become a recluse because of a far greater plan. That's right folks, we are now a mere four days away from the recording of our first reputable release. Don't be expecting to see it too soon however, release plans are set for a few months away, along with a definitive name change for the band (to pre-empt any legal mis-understandings) and an increased emphasis on melding our image with our music. Before then however, most importantly, GIGS. The first will be held on Friday the 6th of February at The Fitz Youth Centre St. Ives, kicking off at seven with a number of supports for the low low price of $5. Be there for the first show of the new year and witness firsthand some new instrumental additions and improved arrangements that have been spawned by the band actually practicing and stuff. Also, after that, on the 27th of March we will be playing alongside the Resin Dogs at the Shore shocked Festival, this time for free. That's all the information I can really devulge for now, but be assured their are plenty more gigs, changes and events in the pipe works. Beware the Guerrilla Gig.

Well last night was the best gig that never was. Sorry to anyone who turned up to see us, things where well out of our hands. Thanks to Rastawookie for being generally cool and helpful and playing a fantastic set. I think this just serves as a learning curve for the band as to the abject lack of common sense and in-ability to rationally negotiate of certain establishments.

Been a month since I've updated this news, seems a little bit sad, but it not really an indication of inactivity, just my own laziness. We've been cutting our teeth in the mean time playing some friends partys but more importantly getting our arses into the rehearsal studio, making sure everything is sounding tight and tidy for the upcoming E.P. However the news is being updated today for the reason that, we have a gig this Friday. Details are in the gigs section, but needless to say you should come, as it is with one of our favourite bands Rastawookie. See yee there.

Well, well, well, where do I start. Last night has to go down as the most interesting Regicide gig in our short history, but it will probably retain that title for a long time to come. Thanks to the Mekanarky crew for your brainwashing, artistic excellence, demon costumes, giant rats, ducks on stage, room'o'noise and most importantly the entertainment value of Crucial. Thanks to everyone that came and saw us play fairly well considering the mixing ordeals and such like. Lata

Enjoy the wonderment that this visual masterpiece of a website has to offer. Also start preparing yourself for the big Halloween show coming up, got some new tunes for ye all, actually had a rehersal with EVERY band member in the one room and the same country (welcome back dave) and if you unfortunatly miss us on friday be sure to try and crash some of the upcoming 'private functions' we will be playing aswell as proposed shows in december.

Greetings Regicrew and other observers alike. Sorry to be so long between news updates, fear not nothing has slowed the momentum of the band and we are all gearing up in rehersal for some cool gigs coming up such as the MEkarnaky gig (details on main page), afew post HSC shindigs and most importantly the recording of our brand spanking new E.P (L.P?). Just telling you all we're still alive, cept maybe dave he's still in europe, but is ment to return this sunday. Also if you where listening to 99.9 SWR FM yesterday between 2-3 yesterday you where not mistaken in hearing Marlon and Myself (matt) having a good chat to the hosts there about our band and playing our whole demo on their independant artists show. They've also asked us to come back and play in the studio for them live before the end of the year aswell as perhaps some gigs in goulburn, but these things are pending confirmation.
