To get over the loss Alby travelled with his cameraman up to New Guinea. He stayed with some natives on the Bensbach River for a month, and while he was there, participated in their hunting expeditions. They hunted with bows and arrows, spears and nets - for kangaroos, deer, wild pigs, birds, fish, barramundi, and crocodiles.
While out hunting for pigs, Alby's native friends, Bok and Senaki, pointed out a little fawn lying in the grass. It became startled and ran straight into the crocodile-infested river. Without hesitation or thought, Alby dived in after it, and swam until he rescued the terrified animal. The natives thought he was a right wally, and in retrospect Alby agreed.I'm leaving, on a jet plane.
