On line Reviews Queensland Poetry Festival
"(J)ust out from Queensland poet Alicia Bennett is The tincture of salt, a new collection of poetry with an erotic edge. Unlike some small press offerings, the book is most attractively jacketed with an erotic/literary design. In her poems, Bennett primarily explores lesbian relationships and themes of solitude and isolation."

"Alicia Bennett is a Brisbane-based poet whose self-published book of poetry, The tincture of salt, was launched in April 2004. The tincture of salt offers an intensely contemporary perspective on how women negotiate the various parts of their lives; love and sex, work and family and the birth (and death) of relationships in particular lesbian relationships. Alicia enjoys weaving seduction and erotisicm into her poetry when-ever she can get away with it."
