If you have Access
or MS Office consistently crashing after it has been performing ok, it may
mean that somehow the installation has been damaged. You should first use
Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs and try Repair (Office 2000) or
Uninstall (Office 97). An uninstall often does not restore you machine -
there will be some Office .dlls and registry settings still remaining.
These erases ensure that the .dlls are removed, as also relevant registry
entries.
Be careful - sometimes standard Windows fonts are
removed as well - Arial, Times New Roman etc.. Have copy of these fonts on
you so that you can restore them if the erasers have been too aggressive. |
