FIONA
JURD
Fiona graduated from the Actors Centre in 2002. Her theatre
credits include; Fool for Love, A Winters Tale, The Three sisters,
Under the Thumb, The Father We Loved on a Beach by the Sea, Cream
of Cult and Birds. Fiona has also appeared in the short films ‘True
‘and ‘Da's Boot’ and numerous TVCs. Fiona started
her career as a professional dancer and worked extensively throughout
Australia and Asia touring to China, Korea and Japan. She appeared
in the stage musicals Grease, the arena spectacular (GFO) and Happy
Days (Dainty Consolidated) and is excited to join both her passion
for theatre and dance together in ACROBATS. |

RUSSELL
SMITH
Russell graduated from The National Institute of Dramatic
Art (NIDA) in 2002. Before this he received a certificate in Indigenous
Theatre from The Western Australian Academy of Dramatic Art (WAAPA).
His theatre credits include; Away, The Seagull, Pericles, Fruits of
Enlightenment, The Dumb Waiter, Saved, 4:48 Psychosis, Country Music,
Jarrabin, Cleansed and most recently Junction. Film credits include
‘Silent Legacy’ and on television Russell has appeared
in Comedy Inc. |

JACQUELINE
ARCHER
Jacqueline Archer graduated from Actors Centre Australia
(ACA) 2002. Her theatre credits include; Twelfth Night (ACA), Uncle
Vanya (ACA) , True West (ACA), Dreams in an Empty City(ACA), The Owl
and the Pussycat (ACA), Cream of Cult (ACA), Under the Thumb (ACA),
The Big Funk (Tap Gallery – Casting Couch Productions) and Rules
of Three (Bondi Pavilion). Film Credits include ‘Respect, Can
It Be?’ and ‘Glitter & Dust’. TV appearances
include a cameo for the Republican Campaign ‘It’s Time’
and main lead in music video for Kel. As an actress and producer Jacqueline’s
passion lies in theatre and film, wanting to create more roles and
stories to stage and film that represent our multiculturaly diversified
nation and history. |

CAMERON
MAYO
Cameron trained at the Actors Centre Australia after a short
career in IT. After completing the Power of Acting, Cameron was accepted
into The Journey 2002. Whilst at drama school he interpreted various
extreme characters from R. P. McMurphyin ‘One Flew Over The
Cuckoo’s Nest’ to Richard III, and Joe Brimmey in ‘The
Father We Loved On a Beach by the Sea’. Since graduating he
appeared in two short plays at Short and Sweet in Newtown. Cameron
has also appeared as the lead role in ‘Respect’, a short
film by London director Alex Valls. |

NICHOLAS
MOODIE
Nic commenced his acting studies with the AGMS in 1994 achieving
a Dip In Acting in 1997. He graduated from the Actors Centre Australia
in 2001. He has since performed regularly in Sydney theatre with the
performances of "Obsession" and "A Bit On The Side"
(ABOTSE), "The Sticks And Stones Tour" (Brainstorm Productions)
"I’m Dreaming? Or am I" (Upholstery Productions) and
Human Traffic (Upholstery Productions). Nic has also worked extensively
on the screen with appearances in Water Rats, Wild Side, Squawk TV
(Nine Network) and the Australian film "Claire’s In Love"
(Milosovec) and "Kings In Grass Castles" (The James Gang).
In 2001 Nic co-founded Upholstery Productions and works as artistic
director of the co-op. Upholstery Productions fundamental is that
art heals. |

MATTHEW
SUTHERLAND
Matthew Sutherland was born in Melbourne in 1972. After being kicked
out of High School he became an award-winning chef working in the
top restaurants in Melbourne. Matthew later moved to Sydney to study.
At the age of 25 he lef
t university to become a stand up comedian.
For five years he worked extensively as a comedian in Australia and
the UK in both theatre and television. Matthew recently graduated
from the Actors Centre and is now at home alone waiting for the phone
to ring wondering what happened to his life… |

BLAIR
TUMETH
Blair graduated from the University of Wollongong's Faculty
of Creative Arts, majoring in Theatre Performance in 2001. Since graduation
he has worked extensively in independent theatre. His recent credits
include The Old Familiar Juice (AnyRoad), Southern Cross Swastika
(as part of the Short & Sweet Festival), Features of Blown Youth
(AnyRoad), Hamlet (Theatre South) and Pick-Ups (AnyRoad). He is a
founding member of AnyRoad Productions, an Illawarra based theatre
company and has acted as the company's Executive Producer and Administrator
since its inception in 2001. |

DIRECTOR:
VINCENT SIMON
Vincent Simon studied engineering in Paris where he was born and
then completed his studies with a Master of Science in Structural
design in University College London where he also worked for three
years. That was much ado about nothing since he realised that theatre
had to be his destiny. Following his heart, Vincent jumped on the
love boat to Australia four years ago.
He trained in Paris for two years, at the conservatoire d'art dramatique
de la ville de Paris (XXeme arrondissement) in acting. In Sydney,
Vincent trained through the Journey at the Actors Centre Australia,
a two-year intensive acting training program, where he graduated
in December 2002. Both in Paris and in Sydney Vincent has appeared
in a variety of plays from "The Silence" by Nathalie Sarraute,
"The Line" by Israel Horovitz, "Twelfth Night"
as Malvolio, "Uncle Vanya" as Dr Astrov, "The Owl
and the Pussycat"
as Jerry, "Pinnocchio the Pantomime" as Stromboli and
"The Pink Panther" as Inspecteur Clouseau. In 2003 he
adapted a 10-minute monologue from the French author J.M. Ribes,
which he performed in various venues and in the comedy festival,
Shorts in Bondi, in June 2003. During this festival he also directed
a short play from Noel Coward, "Rules of Three". Both
plays have been recorded on radio for 2SER. In January 2004 in addition
to directing two plays at Downstairs Belvoir he is directing the
short play 'Spots', by Steven Hopley, as part of the Short &
Sweet Festival in Newtown.

ANDREW ARBUTHNOT
Acrobats and The Line marks Andrew’s debut into theatre production.
Andrew has produced a TV pilot and two award-winning short films.
Starting at 18, Andrew’s first project 'INYAFACE' a magazine
pilot show for teens was funded by the Gaming Machine Benefit Fund.
On completion Artist Services optioned 'INYAFACE' to be developed
into a series. Andrew’s first short film 'Patsy's Party' was
funded by the Brisbane City Council and was one of the first dance
films ever produced in Queensland, garnishing Best Independent Film
and Best Production Design Awards at the Warner Roadshow Queensland
New Filmmakers Awards in 1997. In 2001 Andrew was a recipient of the
NSW Film & Television Office Young Filmmakers Fund for his short
film ‘Contact’. The short was Directed by Kieran Galvin
and based on a published short story by John Lonie. Since completion
it has screened in 35 international film festivals including; Palm
Springs, Raindance, Naples, St Louis and locally at Sydney Film Festival,
St Kilda and Mardi Gras Film Festival where it picked up the Panavision
Award in 2003. Contact recently screened on US free to air and has
distribution deals in Canada and France. In France and Belgium it
is now for sale as the pre-feature short to ‘Head On’
on DVD. Andrew spent two years in the UK working in distribution for
PolyGram Films and in marketing and commissioning for Channel 4 Television
and FilmFour. In Sydney he has worked in various roles in marketing
and programming for: Foxtel, Network Ten and Nickelodeon. In 2003
Andrew was an external reader and assessor for round 13 of the NSW
FTO’s Young Filmmakers Fund. |

PRODUCER:
JACQUELINE ARCHER
Jacqueline Archer has produced in a variety of entertainment genres,
including advertising, film, theatre and television. Jacqueline started
in advertising, working as an Assistant Television Producer for Whybin
Lawrence TBWA. She then moved onto theatre, producing 'The Big Funk'
by John Patrick Shanley at Tap Gallery. She was one of the founders
of the company that produced it, 'Casting Couch Productions', which
is now lead by Greg Eccleston. Jacqueline was an assistant to the
Executive Producer for a multi-million dollar international event
in 2002, co-ordinating talents such as Marcia Hines, Vanessa Amorossi
and Bangarra Dance Company. This year Jacqueline produced a short
film for a London Film Institute director, Alex Valls, and also was
an Assistant Producer for a children's television show for Beijing
(pilot). She also created her own production company, S
herazade Productions,
named after the female narrator of '1001 nights of the Arabian Tales'.

CHOREOGRAPHER:
MELAINIE SMITH
Trained in Jazz, Tap and Ballet in Northern New South Wales. Worked
in cabaret shows for E.K Enterprises and did back-up singing and dance
for Trinidad reggae band 'T-Vibes'. Moving to South Africa, she worked
with a variety of African dance groups and bands in Durban and Cape
Town. Then to the U.K where she worked in repertory theatre on productions
including Sheer Luck Holmes and West Side Story. Returning to Sydney
in 1995, she took classes at the Sydney Dance Company with Paul Saliba
and began choreographing contemporary work with Hallidays Dance Studios.
For the next two years, Melainie worked with Ruth Galene at Red Opal
Dance Theatre performing Flying Colours. She currently studies Performing
Arts at UNSW and is resident choreographer for a number of Sydney
secondary schools. She worked with VIM inc to develop Act2001 and
Theatrelab with Robert Benedetti, Tony McNamara and Cicely Berry.
Recent productions Melainie has choreographed include Dames at Sea,
The Boy Friend and a Blues dance adaptation of Tennessee Williams'
A Streetcar Named Desire. In 2004, Melainie is working on a contemporary
dance adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet. |
