About Cancer and some links

If you or a loved one get Cancer then it will change your life.

All the rollercoaster of emotions you will go through during this period will depend on many things but most importantly your willingness to see this as one of life's opportunities to experience, learn and grow.

I was fortunate to have a loving partner, family and friends who give me love and support in many different ways.

The treatment I had seems to be successful as of Dec 2001. I'm confident that follow up tests next year will further confirm the success.

My treatment was done at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. The team there are not only very the best, but treat you as human!

Hats off to the whole team at RPA!

Books

"It's Not About the Bike"

by Lance Armstrong

The only book I read on someone's 'experience' with cancer. Lance was given little hope of survival, in fact less than 3% by his doctor at one point. While I was reading it, I had just completed one first chemo treatment and Lance was racing in the Tour de France which he won for the 3rd consecutive year!
He has a very graphic account about the chemo treatment in Chapter 6

The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) exists to enhance the quality of life for those living with, through, and beyond cancer. We define, refine and improve services for cancer survivor service and faciliate the delivery of those services - and a large dose of hope - to patients, their families, and other loved ones touched by the disease.
