British interviewer- turned- promoter David Frost, has a singing lesson on stage at Festival Hall
David Frost, silent partner in the firm Paradeine Paterson which is sponsoring the Neil Diamond tour in Australia, stood in his shirt sleeves as Diamond taught him the chorus of one of his songs "Song Sung Blue".
"But I can't sing for toffee apples" Frost protested as Diamond headed him towards the microphone
"My mother never ever used to let me sing in the bath."
After his chorus Frost retreated from the stage. "He's a nervous wreck, I've never seen David lost for words before" Diamond said
Frost's "toffee apple" singing was one of the highlights of Neil's first show in Australia.
From the moment he got on stage Neil gave the capacity audience great value for their money
