The Greek Theatre

Today

The Greek photos were taken on April 9th, 2001.

I think I got the very special atmosphere of this place quite well in the photos

. It is really a special place, very intimate for an outdoor theatre. For me it is like a solitaire, like a shell carved into the mountain.

When I sat there in the auditorium I could easily imagine Neil on stage and doing his thing, especially the 1972 "Hot August" nights.

For me he was at the peak of his performance ability then. And this is also the reason why I love the Sydney concert tape so much as it comes closest to HAN than any other performance.

After the Oz 76 tour Neil became much more polished, but I love those sometimes rough edges.
