=============================================================================== How to make Line-Draw ASCII Headings By AstroBlue (astroboy_blue@yahoo.com) =============================================================================== PROGRAMS NEEDED * Microsoft Word METHOD 1. Search the internet for the logo of the game you want to make a ASCII Heading for and save it to your hard drive. If you feel like breaking the law you could also use an emulator to take a screenshot of the game's title screen. 2. Open up Microsoft Word and copy the line of stars below to the first line: ******************************************************************************* 3. Change the font to Courier New and then change the size of the font so the stars appear in one line. 4. Select "Insert" then "Picture" then "From File" and then select the image of the logo. 5. Right-click on the image and select "Format Picture". 6. Click the "Wrapping Tag" and select "None" then click "OK". 7. Right-click on the image again and put the cursor on "Order" then select "Send Behind Text". 8. Now format the Background to the same color as the background in the logo, then change the color of the font to one that contrasts with the background and the colors of the logo. 9. Resize and fit the picture so the top left corner is on the first star of the line and the top right corner is on the last star of the line. 10. Now put the cursor on the end of the line of stars and then press enter. 11. Now using ,'/_`.\+ to draw lines on the edges of the logo or where ever there is line. If you don't mind using ANSI characters use ¯ ´ as well. If you don't understand what that means try looking at these examples: * Super Mario RPG - Midas River Map members.aol.com/astroboyblue/resources/smrpg_midasrvr.zip * Jet Force Gemini - Logo members.aol.com/astroboyblue/resources/jetforce_logo.zip Here is how you make a curve with ASCII & ANSI (Notice the difference is one character): ASCII CURVE ANSI CURVE ___ ____ ,' `. ,´ `. / \ / \ 12. Once you have finished select "File" then "Save As". Now type the name of the file then change "Save as Type" to Text Only then click on "Save". _______________________________________________________________________________ © Copyright 2001 AstroBlue
