Established the house Beelen (Behlen), which was inherited by his son Laurenz. The house was burned to the ground in an attack on Grönebach, by American troops, in March/April 1945. It was an old farmhouse in the Lower Saxon style, inhabitted by two families at the time. The last owner to carry the Stahlschmidt name was killed in action in France in 1940. (See Egon Stahlschmidt)
