Son and grandson of the Küsters of St Martins church Bigge. Moved from Bigge to Grönebach circa 1702-03 where he became the Küster = sacristan, or verger and the Lehrer = teacher. His older brother Johannes became the K[ster in Bigge.
Franciscus gained extra income as a Branntweinbrenner = distiller of spirits, and in the 1716 Visitationsberricht = church inspection, he is described as "Vir bonae vitae" = a man who leads an honest and moral life. His son in turn became the Küster in Grönebach.
