When I started thinking about getting a kayak or canoe to fish from, I looked to the internet in search of information. I found some Australian sites for general canoeing, but a distinct lack of any sites dealing specifically with kayak fishing anywhere in Australia.
While there were plenty of useful kayak fishing sites, these all had a distinctly North American saltwater bias. There are some good tips and ideas to be had from these sites, but the fishing locations, and a lot of the equipment available have limited relevance to local conditions.
(I read somewhere that there are about 25 million canoe and kayak users in the USA. With a market larger than the entire Australian population, it's no wonder that the range of kayaks, canoes, and equipment far exceeds that which makes it to our shores, and at prices we can only dream about.)
