Kayak Fishing

It's That Time Again

It doesn't seem like another year has passed — which is just another way of saying I didn't get to do half the things I wanted to do last year! At least I don't have to think up a new list of things to do this year!

I did at least get to have a session on Hinze Dam and scored my first bass.

Gavin and Ross have both installed sounders. I asked Ross what bearing the sounder had on his recent success with bass at Lake Samsonvale and here's what he said:
"...even though I was previously trolling roughly in the right places, I was not in the deep water often enough because the old riverbed winds all over the place. Now I just find the deep water and veer back and forth and keep my lure in the right place by watching the sounder and not having too much line out. Another bonus is that I haven't been snagged since getting the sounder...".

The guys at Noosa have continued their success with mackeral, tuna, and the occassional snapper in Laguna Bay.

I recently visited to Rosco Canoes and had a look at a Perception "Swing Angler" kayak. I was impressed with the quality of the fit-out and if I were in the market for a fishing kayak this would definately be on my short list.
