Clubs and Groups

I'm occasionally asked if I know of any kayak fishing clubs in various parts of Australia. If you're a member of a club, contact me to have your club details listed here.

Queensland

Perception Yak Anglers' Club, Noosa, Qld.
Contact 'Billybob' Watson via Fishing Noosa

Palm Beach, Gold Coast, Qld.
There is an informal group of kayak fishers who meet regularly on weekends, launching from Palm Beach at about 5am and paddling out to Palm Reef.

Southern Brisbane Sports Fishing Club, Beenleigh, Qld.
"I am a member of the Southern Brisbane Sports Fishing Club and we do a mixture of fresh and salt water. There is another member who has a peddle kayak and the club caters for kayaks. Over the past two months we fished the Coomera and Nerang Rivers. Members with boats went further than we could however we all joined together for a BBQ lunch."
"I would encourage others, if they live on the south side, to join us."
"We meet the first Monday of the month at the Community Centre in Beenleigh. Anyone interested can email me for more details."

New South Wales

Dawn Prawn Kayak Fishing Club, Sydney, NSW.
"We have a kayak fishing club based at Mona Vale Beach here in Sydney. We fish open waters and have a comp the third weekend of every month. We catch a wide assortment of fish, from snapper to big kings. Our fishing grounds range from 1 to 3kms offshore."
"The kayak of choice for most of our members is the Perception Swing. These yaks are fitted with bait tanks, fish finders, & up to six rod holders."
