Barungwarra Bushland Reserve
Barungwarra Bushland Reserve is located on a quiet backwater on the South Pine River less than half an hour north of Brisbane.
Getting there
Heading north from Brisbane along the Gympie Arterial Road, take the Strathpine Road exit, turning left into Strathpine Road. The first set of traffic lights should be Bald Hills Road. Turn right here and continue for about 500m along until you see a road on the right hand side running more-or-less parallel to Bald Hills Road. This road takes you into the Reserve and to the boat ramp and parking area.

Launching
There is a shallow, two lane, gravel boat ramp here, but I generally launch from the small gravel beach to the left of the ramp as I can usually park right above it.
Once you're on the water head left (west then north-west) to come out onto the South Pine River.

Facilities
None.
Comments
There have never been more than a couple of vehicles there whenever I have launched from here. While this area is fairly close to houses it is still relatively secluded and I would suggest you ensure your car is locked and there is nothing of value in sight.
