Kayak Fishing

Clontarf

by Ross C. and Tony S.

Launching at Clontarf gives easy access to the lower reaches of Pine River, Hayes Inlet, Bramble Bay, and the southern end of Redcliffe Peninsula. This area has sandflats, mudflats, reefs, and man-made structure (bridges and jetties) offering a variety of fishing options.

Getting there

From the Northern end of the Houghton Highway Bridge, proceed about 800 metres along Hornibrook Esplanade and turn right opposite Thomas Street.

Launching

A boat rigging area enables you to pull up to unload gear on a grassy lawn above the launching ramp. The ramp and a small sandy beach are well sheltered by a rock wall.
