Noosa - Culgoa Point and Quamby Park

by Ross C.

Culgoa Point at Noosa

If you are not fortunate enough to be living or holidaying at one of the four blocks of units that have direct access to the beach on Culgoa Point (Noosa Quays, Noosa Harbour Resort, Las Rias Apartments, Culgoa Point Beach Resort) then you can launch from the bank at Quamby Park.

Getting there

Quamby Park can be accessed from the end of Quamby Place which is on the right and about 1.5 km proceeding along Noosa Parade from Hastings Street, Noosa.

Launching

From the car parks in Quamby Place you only have to carry your kayak about fifteen metres to a sandy bank that borders a small sheltered boat mooring harbour with access to the canals.

Facilities

Shelter shed, tennis court for public booking, and grassy lawns in Quamby Park. Apart from the fact that there is no toilet, this park would be a good spot for a picnic lunch after a morning of kayak fishing.
