Scarborough Beach
There are shallow reefs within a couple of hundred metres of the shore along the length of the Redcliffe Peninsula. North Reef is off the northern tip of the peninsula and can be readliy accessed from Scarborough Beach.
Getting there
Take the Gateway Motorway north from Brisbane and follow the signs to Redcliffe. Once over the Houghton Highway Bridge, proceed along Hornibrook Esplanade to Woody Point and turn left onto Oxley Avenue. Follow Oxley Avenue (which changes its name to Landsborough Avenue) for about 6.5 kilometres until you reach a carpark on the right.
Launching
There is a level grassed area between the carpark and the gently sloping beach.

There are plenty of car-parking places and, although the beach and adjacent facilities appear to be quite popular, an early morning start should enable you to park conveniently close.

Facilities
The park area beside the beach has picnic facilities and toilets. Across the road from the beach is a cafe, a fish and chip shop, and the Scarborough Hotel.
