Scarborough Boat Harbour

Scarborough Boat Harbour has two boat ramps with the best one for Kayaks being opposite the camping reserve as it has a small sandy beach beside it.

Both Deception Bay and North Reef can be accessed from the harbour and it is a good back-up launch site to Scarborough Beach if South Easters are likely.

Another benefit of using the harbour is that if you are a member of Redcliffe Coastguard you can easily log on and log off on the way past their base near the harbour entrance.

Getting there

The ramp is at the North Eastern end of the harbour beside the Caravan Park and can be reached by using Bird O'Passage Parade or Reef Point Esplanade (see UBD Map 81 R8).

Launching

The ramp is quite wide and there is usually enough room to park on it or in the boat rigging area while you unload. The ramp is a metre or so above the beach so carefully pick your steps to carry your Kayak down to the sand.

Facilities

Shelter sheds and toilets are available in the nearby Thurecht and Jamieson Parks while there is a kiosk next to the ramp. Car parking for boat trailers is provided.
