World Wide War is a global 40K event created by Spencer Harding and Philip Johnson, the hosts of the 40K Radio podcast. The idea is to set a record for the most people playing in one tournament, by hosting it at different venues around the world on the same day. This website is for the event in Melbourne, Australia. RULES
World Wide War is a one day Warhammer 40,000 5th Edition event. Competitors will play three rounds of 2.5 hours with 1750 point armies. All miniatures MUST BE PAINTED. Unpainted miniatures cannot be fielded. Full rules for the event are covered here: world-wide-war-rules.pdf
PRIZES
See the global World Wide War website for information about the global prizes. Locally we have decided to keep the costs low and offer no additional prizes or trophies, aside from the framed certificates. Mostly, come along for a fun day of 40K with big armies!
REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
There are 50 places available for the Melbourne event. (The event needs 10 players as a minimum to be recognized in the global competition.) FEES There are two event fees for World Wide War in Melbourne: GLOBAL REGISTRATION You can pre-register via Paypal before 20 Sep. Global registration is US $10. Register here (If you are unable to pay via PayPal, you can pay on the day; however, we appreciate it if you can pay beforehand.) VENUE HIRE All players will be asked to pay AUD $15 on the day to cover venue hire costs. If the fees paid exceed our costs (32+ players), any profit will go towards a raffle prize.

Q. Why play in World Wide War in Australia? To have fun, to be part of it, and to sling around 1750 point armies, which is more than the Australian tournament standard. It will also be interesting to try out US GT conditions. Oh, and to prove that we're the best 40K players in the world, of course! Q. There is no separate category for army composition. Should I be scared? No. Come along and have a good time. Bring the army that you'd like to field, and that you'd like to play against. Punch in, play some 40K, and have fun! Q. Do I need to submit a written army background? No, there is no background component to this tournament. Q. Do I need to send in my army list? No, bring two copies of your list on the day, one to hand in, and one to show your opponent. Q. Can I request a Grudge Match or a Blood Rule? No, in this event, everyone in the world must fight, whatever the reason! Q. Where are the details for missions and battle points? These will be available on the day. Q. What's a Freeboota? Freebootaz are listeners who support 40K Radio by paying an annual subscription fee of US $12 via Paypal. There is an additional prize in this event for the highest-ranked Freeboota in the world. So, you don't have to be a Freeboota to play in World Wide War, but if you are, you get a shot at an extra prize. Plus, it's cool to subscribe and support the show. Q.
