Other authors who grace my bookshelves..

In no particular order..

Barbara Hambly

One of the recent crop of historian turned authors, she has an excellent grasp of medieval societies and how they function.. as well as telling a wonderful tale.

Favorite Book "Dragonsbane"  A different take on the stereotypical fantasy dragon.. and why they want gold..

David Drake

Basically the best military SF writer out IMHO.. although Jerry Pournelle comes a close second, as would H. Beam Piper if he was still alive..

"Lord of the Isles"

Robert Frezza

RAF's Book Page
He has written a (so far) trilogy, "A small colonial war", "Fire in a faraway place" and "Cain's Land" which are exellent hard military SF, and "McLendon's Syndrome" and "The VMR Theory" which are a pair of SF books filled with the most apalling puns and jokes.. (The VMR in the second stands for 'Vampire master race', yes, vampires in space.  But it's not what you think!  Read these books!)
