A change has been made in regards to Grading and Submitting both Piobaireachd tunes and Light Music tunes as follows.

The Piobaireachd is now Graded A, B & C Grade. This replaces Open, Intermediate and Novice Piobaireachd.

C Grade/Bronze Medal - Play the Ground and Next Variation Please Note! "Next" variation

B Grade/Silver Medal - Play One Complete Tune Own Choice (must include crunluath variation)

A Grade/ Gold Medal - Submit 2 Tunes Own Choice of which the Judge will select one to play (must include crunluath variation)

Pipers wishing to play up into the next Grade must Submit different tune/s from their own Grade in both Light Music and Piobaireachd!!

This is to ensure that pipers wishing to play up into a higher grade are not merely playing and submitting the same tunes, but have actually placed some effort into preparing for the competition.

Please Note! If you are Graded A, B, C, D, Novice or Beginner in Light Music. It does not necessarily follow that you are Graded the same in Piobaireachd

There is no relation to Light Music Grading and Piobaireachd Grading.

Example: You could be playing in B Grade in Light Music and C Grade in Piobaireachd
