3. Back and forward. Without skewing this to a sexual reference, thats what you need to do for the next hour or so. Use the rough side of the sponge and start rubbing. Put a bit of elbow grease into it if you have the energy, if not it'll take a bit longer. KEEP THE SPONGE SQUARE, at all times, otherwise it will lose the 'factory' finish. It took me about an hour to get the finish I wanted. You can do it more and make it look even better, but I was getting lazy and decided instead to browse the forums. When you first start, there will be only lines that have been 'brushed', and the rest is still polished, this is because of the unevenness (is that a word :P) of the sponge, and actually works to give the finish, and the lines all kind of mergre as you get further into it. Take special care when doing the sides and top. The sides are easy, because theres nothing there, and the bottom is fairly easy, I just went over the connector. However, the top is bit fiddly. I put a bit of tape over the hold switch, then went over it, and it took a bit more patience, but it looks great once you work on it for long enough. |
