About our Salsa Classes: We specialise in teaching you authentic Cuban Salsa (also known in Cuba as 'Casino') - an expressive, creative style of Salsa, that incorporates elements from various Cuban dance styles such as Rumba, Son, Mambo, and Cha Cha Cha. We teach both Partner Dancing and the popular circular Group Dance known as Rueda de Casino (or just simply Rueda!) What's exciting and unique about Cuban Salsa dancing is that it is always evolving with the music - hence the dance now incorporates elements from newer contemporary styles such as Timba and Reggaeton. We also give you a taste of other Cuban and Latin American dances such as Bachata (a beautiful romantic couple dance from the Caribbean), Merengue, Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Reggaeton, Brazilan Samba and Forro! |

- First Timers: Please arrive 10 minutes before your first class to allow time for registration and payment.
- Start straight away! Our classes are designed so that you can start at any time of the year! Pay as you go.
- We welcome people of all ages and levels! We have a fun, diverse range of people of various ages, levels, and backgrounds!
- Dress Code: Neat casual. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. No barefoot dancing. Ladies: No thongs or slip on shoes. Men: No singlets or shorts.
- No partner required - We work on a regular rotating system so you get to dance with other people in the class.
- As we are teaching in venues, please refrain from bringing your own water bottle (except for Fairfield classes). Free tap water is available for you, as well as cheap bottled water and cold/hot drinks.
- Our classes run for approximately 55 minutes.
- We have FREE Social Dancing time after the classes (except Fairfield classes) so you can practise your new moves straight away!
- Discount Cards available in class - save time and money! 10 class pass = $135 (save $15) or a Salsaholics Card for $180 (2 classes on the same night x 10)
Beginners - You will learn all the fundamental steps, turns and moves, and correct Technique, to give your dancing a solid foundation. Introduction to rhythm and timing for Musicality. You will learn the basics of Body Movement that will later on give your dancing its 'sabor' (flavour)! This class can also be used as a warmup/revision for Intermediate 1.
Intermediate 1 - Building on the Beginners Syllabus, you will start to learn various turn patterns and combinations. You will continue to develop a deeper understanding of the music. You will start to combine Technique, Styling and Body Movement with the steps. Intro to Footwork routines and Rueda, the exciting circular group Cuban Salsa dance. This class can also be used as a warmup/revision for Intermediate 2.
Intermediate 2 - A faster paced class. By now, you will have a good understanding of Lead/Follow Technique and be developing an awareness of Cuban dance Styling. You will learn more complex turn patterns, combinations and footwork routines and you will be required to dance to faster music.
