YesFANZ Party and Venue
As Reported in the other pages the 2003 Yes Tour of Oz was a great success. At this stage we have now definite news of a 2004 tour, but you can rest assured we are doing our best to help it eventuate. The information below is our information on the Venues for the 2003 parties retained here for your interest. Cheers
2003 Venue Information
The Yesfanz Festival venues are to be at Jack Neary Room in the Sydney Entertainment Centre (see map below) and a room to be arranged at the Vodaphone Area, Melbourne, on the afternoon of each concert, respectively. We are expecting up to 300 YES devotees at each party.
We. also are especially pleased to announce that there will be a significant display of world famous Roger Dean artwork and hopefully the man himself. Most of you will know as the creator of the art for most of Yes's album covers, and in particular the famous YES logo., but you will find that he is an amazing and prolific artist. A visit to his website is a must. Arrangements are also made for an exhibition at Glass Artists Gallery whilst the works are in Australia, but Yesfanz festival attendees will be treated to a special display
As the festival has proved to be so popular, and the function rooms chosen for their close proximity to "sound check", we will have a standing function and the gourmet catering will be by roaming waiters, and will feature, though not exclusively, vegetarian. A pay as you go bar will be available.
We are planning for an Aboriginal welcome of the band and perhaps a short traditional dance. There will also be large screen projectors running some recordings of live performances that we are sure you will enjoy.
We have received indication from the bands management of the intention for band members appearance at the Sydney party and arrangements are sought for same in Melbourne also. We are planning a pre-organised panel style answering of questions submitted and collated from the attendees in advance of the panel. They have also agreed to sign autographs (one only each attendee), and we will try to do this and keep it to as orderly and dignified as possible.
The cost is $AU95 per head. We should emphasis this is strictly a non-profit function and the small budgeted surplus, if realised, is to be donated to a charity of the choice of the Band or the promoter.
Both the promoter, the band, and the band's management have been extremely supportive to the efforts of this group of "fans" of YES from Australia and New Zealand and we would like thank you for that.
