So, who is this Chris Barnes guy anyway? Well, let's see.
I live in Sydney, Australia. Have done for most of my life.
I worked for Qantas IT for 15 years, as a programmer, analyst and project manager. Quit in 2002 to take up writing fiction, then eventually got a job again due to a need for coffee and lunch companions (and money). I'm a graduate, if that's the right word, of the inaugural Clarion South writer's workshop. I've been part of a few writer's groups, but have settled on Thorbys, a private group consisting mainly of Clarion graduates. I stopped writing for the last year or so, but am slowly picking up the threads again. I now also work full time for CHOICE magazine.
I also enjoy historical swordsmanship, and can be found on most Monday evenings at the Stoccata School of Defence, learning the art of the sword, longsword, rapier and other period weapons.
One of my more enduring nicknames is 'Captain Pudding'. Well, what can I say? Puddings, cakes, chocolate... it's all good!
In 1994 I married the lovely Louise. Alas, we separated in 2006. So it goes.
And that, dear reader, is as much as you need to know.

This is me... ... and this was us.
