Mozart Requiem in D minor. K 626
First of all, you must have Mozart's Requiem (KV 626). Even if you think you
don't like Mozart, you will like this work. I read that a noted computer
scientest played this music in his log cabin while debugging the
logic of the Dec Ultrix workstation.
War Requiem - Benjamin Britten (1963)
Benjamin Britten's War Requiem is also essential.
This work combines the traditional Latin mass with the war poems
of Wilfred Owen. You may want
a really dynamic digital recording as the DECCA recording with Britten
has a fair amount of tape hiss.
Requiem - Berlioz
For something loud, you should choose either (or both) Berlioz's Requiem
or Verdi's Requiem. CD sleeve notes to be supplied.
Requiem - Verdi
CD sleeve notes to be supplied.
Missa Luba - African Mass (1990)
CD sleeve notes to be supplied.
A German Requiem - Brahms
CD sleeve notes to be supplied.
Requiem - John Rutter (1985)
CD sleeve notes to be supplied.
A Polish Requiem - Penderecki
CD sleeve notes to be supplied.
