Mozart Requiem in D minor. K 626

War Requiem - Benjamin Britten (1963)

Benjamin Britten's War Requiem is also essential. This work combines the traditional Latin mass with the war poems of Wilfred Owen. You may want a really dynamic digital recording as the DECCA recording with Britten has a fair amount of tape hiss.

Requiem - Berlioz

For something loud, you should choose either (or both) Berlioz's Requiem or Verdi's Requiem. CD sleeve notes to be supplied.
