OUR LAND OF AUSTRALIA

Australia is a big wide land
Rich in diversity
The red dry earth and sparse green bush
Are home for 'roos and emu.

The rocks, the wattle, the mighty gum
Are symbols of this land we call home.
Australia is full of wildlife too
Where lizards and snakes can roam.

The wild of nature abounds in plenty
As the eagles and crows gather round
There isn't much they miss at all
As they hover above the ground.

As you travel through this grand land of ours
Away from the arid planes
You see trees a-plenty, and rivers too
And mountains of beauty reign.

Such life there is within the bush
And the coasts hold a sight to behold.
You wonder anew at the beauty rare
Of this land of sunlight, sea and gold.

The earth herself growns below
As her treasures from her are shaken
And miners love to dig so deep
As precious stones they have taken.

This land, so rich in minerals and gold
In treasures of nature and life
With sunny skies and rich red soil
And colours of beauty ripe.

We take for granted what we have
And forget that many on earth
Are born to places not so rich
As this wonderful land of our birth.
