SIMPLE PLEASURES
The simple pleasures of life are freeThere is nothing more worthier of them than me.
The things that surround us - the trees and the sky,
The sweet breeze that blows as it passes on by.
The sun that is warming and makes things to grow
The rain waters trinkling upon the earth's soil
The feeling of warmth that comes from within
All knowing that LOVE is the essence of man.
We see trees that blossom, and life-giving streams,
We see fruit a-growing and flowers supreme.
These are the pleasures, so free and so good
That mankind's been given for health and for food.
They give us their beauty, their offerings so sweet
As each tiny deva offers us a new treat.
The love that pours forth from these simple wee things
Is an offering of God within all that he brings.
We cherish these pleasures, as simple they be
And give thanks for the joys that these pleasures we see.
But the things that are given that we most can endure
Is the love in our hearts that is ever so pure.
