Chuck McKenzie was born in 1970,
and still spends much of his time there. A Bachelor of Arts graduate in Professional Writing &
Literature, Chuck has made the most of his academic qualifications by working
as a pamphlet distributor, commercial artist, performing waiter,
telemarketer, entertainment consultant, restaurant manager, editor,
'rat-wrangler', TV actor, retail manager, reviewer, club DJ,
writing tutor, bookseller, and strip-show MC. He currently lives in Melbourne, Australia, with his wife
Megan, son Max, two immensely spoiled cats, and a hyperactive dog. His
hobbies include the sort of things that other writers lie about to impress
their fans, and his ultimate goal is to live long enough to become a burden
to his family. |

Other Stuff... Ψ He was adopted at birth, and made
contact with his biological mother in 1998. He has three half-siblings, Meg,
Pat and Ronnie, and they all keep in touch on a regular basis. Ψ He has been a diabetic from the age
of six. In 2000, the onset of diabetic retinopathy forced Chuck into an
ongoing program of laser treatment, which in turn lead to the onset of clinical depression. Thanks to
medication, however, and the support of friends and family, Chuck is now less
suicidal. Ψ He caught malaria in 1987 while on a
trip to Papua New Guinea. Other highlights of that trip included
second-degree sunburn, which necessitated penicillin shots, and almost
putting his hand on a bird-eating spider,
which necessitated clean underwear. |
