Reporting to: Directors

Recruitment and training of a sales team comprising of up to 150 residential direct sales representatives.  Territory co-ordination, day to day sales and office management, establishment of KPI’s and budgets. Recruitment, training and supervision of 5 administrative staff, recruiter, and sales trainer.
Establishment of best office practice for processing of sales and management of budget and KPI’s.  Reporting and forecasting on a weekly basis to the Board of Directors and Optus. Management of daily reports for sales, cancellations, and complaints.  Establishment of delivery process for mobile handsets in Victoria and South Australia.  Fleet management of up to 12 vehicles. Establishment and management of interstate office (Adelaide, S.A.) with up to 40 sales representatives.

Key decision maker within the company and responsible for a budget of approximately $4 million per annum.  Turn over for the Solution 1 Group now exceeds $22 Million per annum, seeing an increase of approximately 20% since March 2006.

Currently negotiating contracts for representation of a major Gas and Electricity retailer in the residential and SME market as well as a well branded credit card organisation with projected annual sales exceeding $10 million.

Negotiation and establishment of contract to represent Optus Telecommunications in both residential and business sectors. Recruitment and training of a sales team comprising of 35 residential direct sales representatives and 7 Business Development Consultants.  Territory co-ordination, day to day sales and office management, establishment of KPI’s and budgets, establishment of best office practice for processing of sales and management of budget and KPI’s.  Reporting and forecasting on a weekly basis to the Board of Directors and Optus.

Reason for leaving: Decision by Board of Directors to move away from Direct Sales and into retail.

Sales Trainer for Optus Residential fixed line and mobile marketing. I have to date built a sales force from a single sales representative to a team of nineteen. This company has achieved all sales targets for the months of August and September, a feat previously unattained and this could be attributed to the increase is size and effectiveness of the sales force.

Duties include:

  • Development and implementation of Sales strategies on a product and state specific basis

Duties included:

  • Establishment and updating of sales reports and data tracking systems
  • Achievement of all KPI’s across all residential sales divisions in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.
  • Close liaison with AC&T contact/ call centre for tele-appointing and territory coordination
  • Overseeing of sales, sales training, recruitment and administration.  These divisions continue to grow and prosper to date.

  • Overseeing all Team Managers and Senior Team Managers

  • General administration of the channel including attendance records, sales reports and forecasts.

Major Achievements

  • As Channel Manager, I was awarded the Supply Partner of the month award (Optus) for January 2002 through to April of 2003.  This is an award for excellence and achievement of all KPI’s over a given budget period
  • Accredited as a Sales Trainer under the Optus Train the Trainer program

Green Planet Resources Australia Pty. Ltd. - June 2001 - March 2002
Promotion of Alternative Energy Technologies
Position Held: Managing Director

Green Planet Resources is primarily a market research company. GPRA was the principal coordinator or several projects involving the use of Australian solar energy technologies for projects in developing nations, particularly Southern Africa. Many of these projects involved the use of United Nations funding alongside local govt. input. This was to become the major focus of our activities.

Major Achievements

Using previous experience, I was able to establish funding for various projects in some of Africa’s most impoverished areas through United Nations and other resources.

The company was shelved in 2001 due to economic conditions in other countries preventing the release of funding for several projects that have since been postponed indefinitely.

Initial activities

  • Day-to-day running of all aspects of  Sales, Marketing and Accounting
  • My duties to this company were focused on business development, customer service and the sales and marketing of the company and service as a whole.
  • Swimming Pool Construction and Maintenance
  • Established a small team of sales representatives to promote specialist pool cleaning and maintenance products through direct sales door-to-door
  • Through strong demand, the company undertook to specialise in the Heating of swimming pools through use of Heat Pumps and Solar Collectors
  • Appointed agents for Heat Star heat pumps and Robinson’s solar pool collectors. Over 400 pool-heating installations were carried out successfully
  • As our reputation grew in the field of solar heating, we found an increasing demand to enter the Home Solar Hot Water System Market
  • Appointed agents for Jacques Giordano Solar Systems, Edwards Solar Systems, Thermomax Vacuum Tube Systems and SOLCO solar hot water systems
  • Established and developed contacts with several large residential construction companies including Richard Costain

Further activities

  • The establishment of the trading name “El Planeta Verde” or Green Planet and the development of a marketing plan to franchise this name in the solar energy market.
  • Import and Export to several Asian countries including Taiwan, Thailand and Japan became an essential part of our activities and we were responsible for the launch of several innovative Chinese and Japanese solar powered products into the European market.
  • Established small direct sales team to launch Airtel mobile telephony in Andalucia

Major Achievements

  • Onslow Enterprises pioneered an equipment financing system whereby prospective clients could purchase solar powered systems on a hire purchase basis with backing from a major bank and local government
  • Onslow Enterprises tendered for and was awarded several governmental projects for the supply of renewable energy systems to remote areas of the Iberian Peninsular and North African countries and developed considerable expertise in the handling of international projects on a small to medium scale.
  • Elected Vice president of the Solar Energy Association of Spain (ASENSA) in 1991
  • Established a direct marketing team for the introduction of a range of residential water filtration products into the Spanish market. Teams of up to 12 sales representatives were given specific target areas and a series of daily, weekly and monthly targets were set of each individual.
  • Strong ties established with several Government and Non Governmental Organisation bodies including Earth Watch, Green Peace, Save the Dolphin Foundation and UNICEF.

  • Management with BDM focus of company dedicated to the construction and maintenance of swimming pools and spas. This company built over 30 pools and spas during this period and had over 120 pool owners registered as maintenance clients.

  • Responsible for all new marketing programs and advertising campaigns in this highly competitive environment.

  • Trained by Fokker Aircraft Corporation in the manufacture of fibreglass aircraft and helicopter parts under the “Plastics for power” program supported by the Netherlands government.

  • Responsible for the launch of Mandate men’s toiletries throughout the United Arab Emirates.

Major Achievements

  • Launching a successful men’s aftershave (Mandate) that continues to dress the shelves of men’s boutiques and exclusive pharmacies today.
