After picking up our boarding passes from the tour leader, we went through
security check and the departure hall was one big room. It had plastic
chairs and a few shops. There was also a lounge. We were informed that there
was an aircraft change from the scheduled aircraft to the CRJ-200 which was
a smaller aircraft. So I presumed that it was scheduled to be a B737.
Saw the CRJ land at Rwy17 at 0858 and parked at the apron at 0900. There
were marshals to direct the pilot. Boarding came at 0909!!! Which meant that
there were no cleaning inside the cabin (as there were newspapers left from
the previous flight in the seat pocket) and don’t think there were crew
change either. We walked to the aircraft and boarded at 0911. Boarding
passes were the primitive type which had the flight number and destination
stamped on it and the seat number was a sticker stuck on it. There was no
names on it and obviously not computerised. Anyhow, computerisation was not
needed as I think the maximum flight it can serve at any one time was 2
flights as there were only 2 boarding doors. and less than 10 check-in
desks.
Doors were closed at 0918 and engine start-up at 0919. Pushback was not
required as the aircraft just taxied off to the runway and once it reached
the end, it turned around for take-off. Take-off was at 0925 on RWY17.
Descent was at 0940 and gears down at 0951. Since I was not too far from the
flight deck, I heard the auto-pilot being turned off at 0953 and we touched
down at 0955 on RWY21 and exited via TXY F. Then we parked at the apron at
0959 and doors were opened at 1000. We had to take the bus back to the
terminal.
