As we joined the tour, we were required to arrive at the airport quite
early. We were told to check-in ourselves which was completed before 1130.
Then after passing immigration and security check, we wondered around the
airport before reaching the gate. I decided to walk to the gate rather than
taking the automated train.
Boarding was through L1 as only one aerobridge was used for the 757. We
boarded the aircraft at 1305. I was not too surprised by the Business class
onboard, since I expected that it only featured wider seats and more pitch,
but however, Business class still looked that it’s lacking in space. Economy
Class was even worse; seat pitch was less that 32” as it wasn’t too easy to
walk into the window seat. There were no foot rest. Flight was only about
65% full as the second section was left empty. Door closed at 1321.
Pushback at 1324 and take-off at 1337 on RWY07R. We didn’t go all the way to
the TXY J1, we entered the runway via TXY J2. Lunch was served. It is
actually one of the worse airline meals that I’ve had. I usually don’t find
airline meal a problem, but this one was a little different. There was no
choice of what the main course was as it was only a short flight. The meal
consisted of one packet of dry fried peanuts, a croissant packed in a
plastic bag (which means it was not heated), a bun with some weird sauce and
tomato wrapped in glad wrap. Main course was a few small pieces of fried
chicken and a pie with some sort of creamy sauce and salmon in it. Couldn’t
say exactly what it was as there was no menu. It sounds okay but the main
course was very dry and no taste as well. Even worse is that it was only
just merely warm. I didn’t enjoy this meal too much. The best food in the
meal was probably the croissant. Drink was a cup of orange juice.
Descent came at 1527 and gears down at 1544. Touch down was on RWY21 at 1547
and parked at gate 1 at 1553. 28 minutes behind schedule.
