Dubai is 2 hours ahead of Cairo. After 8 days in various parts of Egypt, we headed off to Cairo International airport for our flight back to Hong Kong via Dubai and Bangkok. The security arrangement in Cairo is similar to that of Dubai. Security check point before entering the check-in area. This took quite some time as there were only 2 machines in the check-in area Emirates was in. We had to check-in ourselves again and being me, I asked for window seats for both flights. However, the check-in agent said no window seats on the DXB/HKG flight =( and also, we could not sit together... I wonder what was wrong with the agent... Anyhow, I felt that I would get no where even if I did asked him to change the seating (1. English was not a good language to communicate with him =_=, 2. He didn't seem helpful) so I thought I would ask EK transfer desk to change the seating once I get to Dubai. Went through the usual passport and security controls and we were airside quite early. Nothing much to see inside the terminal (only 7 gates in the terminal) except a few shops and cafe airside (where they charge you higher than reasonable price). We had around 30minutes before boarding, so I went around to take some photos. My parents suggested we should buy some hot water at the cafe so that we can make cup noodles to eat (bought in HKG incase the food included in the tour were not enough, but we ended up not eating any except for the night where we spent sleeping on the train). However, I noted we had Pork flavoured cup noodles and suggested to my parents that they should consider not eating that at the place.

Anyway,
we sat and talked and rested before we could board. When boarding was
called, we went through another security check point into another room to
wait before we could board. The actual boarding (into the aircraft)
started a few minutes before the scheduled departure time so we'd be
expected a delayed departure.

onboard and took a few photos including First Class seats (finally).

The Cabin
crews on this flight were the best of all the EK flights I've taken. There
was this male crew (Singaporean) who was very friendly and cheerful. He
also gave me some goodies for my transit in Dubai =D.
