Extraction:
A concrete is produced from the flowers by solvent extraction. The absolute is obtained from the concrete by separation with alcohol. A second essential oil is produced by steam distillation of the absolute.
Characteristics:
The absolute is a dark orange-brown, viscous liquid, with an intensely rich, warm, floral scent and a tea like undertone. It blends well with rose, sandalwood, clary sage, and all citrus oils.
