65 - "The 830"

65 - the 830

Loco number 65 (formerly 19) is our little piece of whimsy. When Anunaka was first exhibited, the similarity to a South Australian station was so strong that another exhibitor asked, with tongue in cheek "OK, where is the 830?" The 830 class of locomotives dieselized the SAR narrow gauge divisions, but are locomotives which also run on standard and broad gauge. Peter took up the challenge, and produced this gem: an 830 running on 4 four-axle bogies (to lighten the axle load, of course), and it occasionally gets a run when things might be getting a little too serious.
