Our Scout's meet at our hall on Friday Evenings between the hours of 7:30 - 9:30pm Scouts are for boys and girls who are around 10˝ and have not yet turned 15. From about 14˝ they can commence 'linking' up to Venturers. If your child is 14˝ and has not yet started with Scouts, you may consider going straight to Venturers. What are the fundamental aims for a Scout Troop?
Typical ActivitiesScouts develop their 'life skills' through scouting
activities learning leadership and the responsibility that goes with it.
They are recognised for their achievements through a badge award system that
they progressively work through while they're in Scouts. As an eleven year
old they start to aim for their 'Pioneer' badge and cord which they only
receive when they have worked through a series of exercises/activities that
develop their skills not only in scouting but for life in general. These
will include (but not be limited too) things like hiking, campcraft &
citizenship.
