  • Our Scout's meet at our hall on Friday Evenings

    between the hours of 7:30 - 9:30pm

Scouts are for boys and girls who are around 10˝ and have not yet turned 15. From about 14˝ they can commence 'linking' up to Venturers. If your child is 14˝ and has not yet started with Scouts, you may consider going straight to Venturers.

What are the fundamental aims for a Scout Troop?

    • To have fun in a safe and structured environment.

    • To continue to develop within the world of scouting.

    • To continue to develop a sense of belonging to a structured fun activity outside school and sports.

    • Become more independent through achieving individual goals in scouting in an uncompetitive atmosphere.

    • To develop leadership skills and take on the responsibility of looking out for their fellow scouts.

    Typical Activities

Scouts develop their 'life skills' through scouting activities learning leadership and the responsibility that goes with it. They are recognised for their achievements through a badge award system that they progressively work through while they're in Scouts. As an eleven year old they start to aim for their 'Pioneer' badge and cord which they only receive when they have worked through a series of exercises/activities that develop their skills not only in scouting but for life in general. These will include (but not be limited too) things like hiking, campcraft & citizenship.
They then continue on to do the Explorer and Adventure badges/cords respectively which continue on the same theme as the 'Pioneer' badge but at a more advanced level.

    • Activities
There are literally hundreds of different activities our scouts will participate in from camping & hiking to community based  things like marching in our local Memorial March on Anzac day or participating in 'Clean up Australia Day'. You would need to contact us to give you an indication of the sort of activities that are on the horizon.
    • Outdoor Activities
We do Bush walking around our area as there are a number of bush track (surprisingly) in our suburb that start right out the back of our hall. We also go on camps 3 - 4 times a year.
