Mt Lewis is NorthWest of Cairns in North Queensland and covers a large area that houses wet rainforest on its eastern flanks and dry forest on the west. It is home to a vast array of native orchids both epiphytic and terrestrial. Dendrobium speciosum var. curvicaule is found here on both sides and Dendrobium speciosum var. pedunculatum is here as well. This is truly a marvellous place to bushwalk, with the sounds and smells of nature all around you. Plant life is as diverse as you can get and if you are real lucky you can get a glimpse of a cassowary or a tree kangaroo.
