Fire Dragon Exarch
Link to picture without background

spacer.gif (56 bytes) Exarchs are warriors that have dedicated themselves completely to their "aspect". Continuous and rigorous training have enabled Exarchs to improve their fighting skills to a point that they not only fight better than the rest of their squad, they also can have special "warrior powers". All exarchs come with 3+ Exarch armor, that the Exarchs can run in (fleet of foot). Exarchs also have a range of wargear available to them.

The Fire Dragon Exarch is a formidable tank hunter and foe in hand to hand combat.

TACTICAL SUGGESTIONS:

Fire Dragon Exarchs can have the following warrior powers, "Burning fist" and "Tank Hunter".

"Burning Fist" is very useful because it allows the Exarch to re-roll any failed to wound rolls and it ignores normal armor saves. Although 20 points seems a bit high at first for this warrior power, I consider them well spent if this warrior power is chosen. An Exarch with Burning Fist can be very handy when the inevitable counter attack comes after the Fire Dragons have discharged their weapons

"Tank Hunter" allows the Exarch to re-roll any penetration rolls that occur during shooting or close combat against targets with an armor value. This is an excellent choice of warrior powers if the exarch is facing the tougher tanks like Land Raiders or Leman Russ’s.

Fire Dragon Exarchs may also upgrade their fusion gun to a Firepike.

The Firepike is an excellent weapon, well suited to the way how Fire Dragons fight and it is a bargain at 18 points. The firepike is particularly useful when the Exarch is closing ground to get to grips with the enemy, due to it’s greater range.

A small squad of five Fire Dragons with an Exarch in a Falcon is a very effective force to deal with just about any emergency that pops up. Be it heavily armored troops or vehicles.
