Here are some web sites that I think are well done, and/or I've found very useful.

Adeptus Australasia
Provides a way for Australian and New Zealand players to:
Find opponents in their areas.
Exhibit their painting and conversions.
Showcase their writing.
Publicise their websites.
Advertise their 40k clubs.
Identify useful suppliers of 40k related materials.

Apocrypha 40,000
The best 40k E-zine on the net.
Great articles on troop types, tactics, conversions
and just about anything else to do with 40k

Batreps com

This site has nothing but battle reports with pictures.
It's a great site to see different playing styles.

Battle results

This site is a compilation of 40k battle results from all around the world.
If you've ever wondered how well the army you play, rates against
any other 40k army, this is a site that can give you an indication,
as it has some very interesting statistics.

Doctor Faust's

An excellent site for those who want to improve their painting skills
or who just like looking at expertly finished miniatures.

Dropship 40,000
An E-zine that is very well designed and full of interesting articles.
This is amongst the best sites on the net.
Very slick.

The Eldar Language Guide

A very useful site for those of us who like to get our Eldar names right.
This site is run by David Donachie,
who helped with the naming of my Craftworld.

Eldaronline
One of the best Eldar sites on the net.
Packed with painting and tactical tips.
A truly excellent resource for the Eldar player

on how to make great terrain.

Newsgroups

Here are the newsgroups that I visit
(some, more than others).

A moderated group newsgroup is run by people that monitor the posts
so that people stay on topic and remain civil to each other.
If you veer too far or too often from their guidelines you will get
kicked off the list and probably won't be able to get back on.
Moderated newsgroups tend to have a better signal to noise ratio
than unmoderated newsgroups.

Unmoderated newsgroups are uncontrolled and people are
free to post whatever they want.

The Eldar list
A moderated list by MC23.
A safe haven for discussion of things Eldar.
A good place to discuss Eldar tactics and army lists.
To subscribe simply go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/warpmatrix/
and subscribe online.

The 40k list
A moderated list run by Chris Bickford and Edwin Voskamp.
This is a very good list to discuss rules, tactics and conversions.
Although there is a very vocal anti Eldar minority, the 40k list is a good
newsgroup with more than it's fair share of bright minds willing to help
those of us with questions.  It's also a great group for 40k stories (fluff).

The 40k 3rd edition list
A Moderated list run by Jimi Tubman.
This list is similar in content to the 40k list but being a newer list,
it doesn't seem to have as many older players.
In tone, this list is somewhere between the 40k list and R.G.M.W.

Recreational. Games. Miniatures. Warhammer (RGMW)
If you don't like the idea of moderated newsgroups and you yearn for
"full and frank" discussions with no holds barred, then RGMW is the
newsgroup for you.  There can be a high noise to signal ratio but there are
some real gems to be found.

This group isn't for the faint hearted
as the  flaming can be merciless and therefore quite intense.
You can get onto this newsgroup by subscribing via your
E-mail program or web browser.
Also make sure that you read the FAQ before
you post anything to RGMW
