Striking Scorpion Exarch
Link to picture without background

spacer.gif (56 bytes) Exarchs are warriors that have dedicated themselves completely to their "aspect". Continuous and rigorous training have enabled Exarchs to improve their fighting skills to a point that they not only fight better than the rest of their squad, they also can have special "warrior powers". All exarchs come with 3+ Exarch armor, that the Exarchs can run in (fleet of foot). Exarchs also have a range of wargear available to them.

Striking Scorpions are heavily armoured (3+ save), hand to hand specialists. Because of the heavier armor that is worn, only the strongest Eldar (Strength 4) follow the path of the Striking Scorpion. The Striking Scorpions are armed with a chain sword and shuriken pistol. Incorporated into the Striking Scorpion Exarch’s helmet is the Mandiblaster, which allows a special strength 4 attack on a roll of 4+ in hand to hand at initiative 8 (Initiative 6 +2).

TACTICAL SUGGESTIONS:

Exarchs can have the following warrior powers, "Crushing Blow" and "Stealth".

Crushing blow is very useful because it adds +1 to the strength of the Striking Scorpion Exarch’s hand to hand attacks.

Stealth allows A squad that is led by an Exarch with this power to infiltrate when allowed by the mission. Stealth is great if you get a mission that allows you to use it, but it’s a waste of 20 points if the mission doesn’t allow it.

Striking Scorpion Exarch’s may also be given the following wargear, Biting Blade and Scorpion’s Claw.

The biting blade is a cheap upgrade that allows the Exarch to keep rolling to wound if the Exarch wounds an opponent with more than 1 wound. The biting blade is so cheap (5 points) that it would be foolish not to take it. The Biting Blade can be made even more effective if used in conjuction with the warrior power "Crushing Blow".

The Scorpion’s claw is basically a power fist with a built in shuriken catapult that can both be used in the same turn. If you think you’ll be facing an army that will have tanks, the Scorpion’s claw is worth considering, particularly when used in combination with stealth.

Due to the greater skill of the Exarchs, is a good idea (most of the time) to keep the Exarch at the front of your troops so that the Exarch can put their skills to better use.
