I've travelled a great deal in the last 15 years, and have photographed a great number of mis-spelled signs whilst doing so.

No doubt the sign writers carefully plan where each letter is to go on their beautifully done multi-coloured signs - but it's pretty obvious that many of them just don't bother to check the dictionary before applying the paint...

Those painted signs score very highly in my book, with the fruit shop owner's 'chalked blackboard' signs scoring a little lower as they're often scribbled in a hurry. Nevertheless they're a rich source of errors too...

I've personally taken the vast majority of these photos, and only a very few have been contributed by others.
